10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kaitlyn
7. That NXT Match With Maxine
If you've never clapped eyes on the 19 October 2010 episode of NXT, then now is the time to see why Kaitlyn vs. Maxine must be considered one of the worst WWE matches of all time.
Firstly, someone had the bright idea that "Pros" Vickie Guerrero and Alicia Fox should have microphones, allowing them to talk incessantly during the match. That rendered Michael Cole and Josh Mathews meaningless at ringside, and it led to asinine lines like Vickie crying out that Maxine's attacks would ruin Kaitlyn's sweatshirt.
It (somehow) got worse. A mind-numbing series of rest holds were hilariously accompanied by WWE's decision to run a reminder for that Sunday's Bragging Rights pay-per-view on the bottom of the screen. Meanwhile, the live crowd sat on their hands wondering what the hell was going on.
Seriously, this is essential viewing for anyone who gets a kick out of awkward silences, WWE shooting themselves in the foot or bad wrestling. The whole ordeal was a horrible five-minute reminder that neither woman was properly trained, the show was a dud and women's wrestling was, internally at least, viewed as pointless.
