10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kane

7. He Doesn't Have Any Scars

Much was made of Kane's unmasking in June of 2003, most of it centered on how unattractive and monster-like the Big Red Machine looked now that his apparently scarred and burnt face was laid bear.

Except it wasn't scarred or burnt - like, at all. He looked pretty normal, actually, sans for the fact that they had rubbed some coal on his cheeks, given him a pair of costume-store contact lenses, and later put a flannel on his head.

It was odd, given that they spent the previous five years telling us that he wore a mask precisely to cover up his disfigured face. And sure: you could argue that the scars Kane referred to were emotional rather than physical - but then why did everyone else react the way they did when he unmasked?
