10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Ken Shamrock

4. He Was The First TNA Champion

Ken Shamrock's last WWE appearance came in late 1999, when a feud with Chris Jericho led to Y2J splashing "The World's Most Dangerous Man" in full hockey gear and giving him internal injuries. The angle wasn't treated as any sort of write-off, and many assumed that it wouldn't be long before Shamrock was back to get revenge on the Canadian superstar. Sixteen years later, Shamrock still hasn't appeared in WWE. He did return to wrestling in 2002, though, becoming a centerpiece of the fledgling NWA: Total Nonstop Action promotion. At the company's first Pay-Per-View event, Shamrock won a battle royal to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, kicking things off for the promotion as a name titleholder. Though TNA has never been legitimate competition for WWE, Vince McMahon and company still have a grudge against the minor-league outfit. Shamrock's history with the company doesn't endear him to WWE.
