10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Lilian Garcia

9. Introduced Nikki Bella As WWE Women's Champion

At the brand spanking new Fast Lane pay-per-view in February, 2015, Nikki Bella was set to defend the WWE Divas Title against Paige. The match turned out to be short, which didn't distract anyone from Lilian Garcia's botch on the night whatsoever. Upon the entrance of Bella, the ring announcer told the world that she was the reigning, defending WWE Women's Champion. Obviously, that belt was retired by the company in September, 2010, mainly to make way for the success of the Divas variation. This is a more natural mistake than The Usos one, because at least it was a title that WWE used to have involved in their product. Even so, it still must go down as a botch, because it does little to sell the importance of the Divas Title if the ring announcer can't even remember what it's called. Worse, Nikki Bella was scheduled to have a lengthy reign as champion, one which would make her the longest reigning champ in the history of the title. It's likely that Lilian, Nikki, Paige and others had a chuckle over what happened afterwards, but it was quite an odd mistake to make when Bella was clearly in possession of the Divas belt.
