10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Lita

2. Snitsky's Infamous Baby Punt

As if it wasn't bad enough that WWE now expected fans to feel sympathy for Kane (a man who had presumably forced Lita to have sex with him), the terrible pregnancy angle was turned into a means to get Gene Snitsky over as a baby-killing menace.

On the 13 September 2004 episode of Raw, Snitsky smacked Kane with a steel chair and caused the doting father to fall on Lita. This caused a miscarriage of the unborn baby, a plot point so cheery it immediately caused ratings to sky rocket. OK, it didn't, because something like this had no place on a wrestling show.

The mockery of Lita continued when Snitsky put his foot through a rubber baby like he was punting to win the SuperBowl. It's unclear why WWE were subjecting one of their most popular females to this kind of kayfabe torture, and predictably, it did nothing to further Lita's career.

It'd be easy to forget all this if that one guy in the front row hadn't actually caught Snitsky's fake baby and caused Highlight Reel host Chris Jericho to fight back a smile.
