10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Road Dogg

7. Tag-Team With K-Kwik Was A Failure

'The New Age Outlaws' were all but done by early-2000. Billy Gunn suffered a nasty shoulder injury, and the WWF creative team had to think on their feet with Road Dogg. At first, he simply played the same gimmick he had before, albeit as a singles star again. Then, later in the year, the company had the brainwave to team him with the incoming Ron Killings. Retitled 'K Kwik', the man who would later become known as 'R-Truth' formed a tag-team with Road Dogg. The unit didn't get as far as having a collective name, but they did cut their own entrance music. The song, entitled 'Get Rowdy' was featured on the WWF The Music: Volume 5 CD, and was designed to move Road Dogg on from The Outlaws. Sadly, even before Road Dogg was fired due to drug problems, the duo weren't working. Fans struggled to accept the tag-team, who seemed like a pale imitation of The New Age Outlaws. It really seemed the ship had sailed on painting Road Dogg as a hip character, and the phony rap thing did nothing for him.
