10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Roman Reigns

6. Calling Seth Rollins And Dean Ambrose 'Journeymen'

Another podcast interview, another poor choice of words - although this one can perhaps be regarded as a more innocent mistake. During an appearance on The Josh Podcast, while speaking on the reason behind his lack of popularity with many fans, Reigns remarked:
'Even when I was with The Shield, I€™ve always had the critics and I think a lot of it goes with the background of me not having that independent experience, especially being paired up with guys like Seth and Dean , because those guys are journeymen'.
Calling two of his most successful peers 'journeymen' may be one of the worst verbal flubs of Reigns' career. Despite surely trying to talk up Rollins and Ambrose's varied, lengthy indie careers, his chosen word carried rather haughty connotations. Although he almost certainly didn't mean to insult his locker room pals, the remark was inevitably jumped on by Reigns' critics. A far less understandable part of the interview saw Roman brush off any notion of Daniel Bryan's popularity contributing to his own failings with the crowd, again pinning a lot of the blame on his own lack of indie experience. Given the rabid following Bryan had accrued during 2015's road to WrestleMania, this probably wasn't the best move...
