10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Ronda Rousey
8. The Early Promo Problems
Listen, cutting promos in front of millions every week is hardly the easiest thing to do, especially for someone who didn't exactly make a living in UFC by smack talking opponents. Ronda is a more thoughtful, reserved kind of person in interviews, and though she's capable of being fiery she's hardly The Rock on the mic.
It's no shock then that her early WWE stick work, whilst passable at times, was tough to watch.
Clearly nervous, Rousey stuttered and stumbled her way through some segments. Credit must go to Kurt Angle, Triple H and (particularly) Stephanie McMahon, because it was they who carried her through and covered for any wobbles. It's almost like WWE knew this'd be coming, and so prepared for it.
Video packages showing Ronda's early exchanges with Steph, Triple H and Alexa Bliss were doctored in replays. They limited Rousey's lines and instead showed her killing it physically. That was a smart move.
