10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rusev

8. The Goldberg Burial

One of the worst moments of Rusev's recent WWE career came in October 2016.

Bill Goldberg was on the show to hype his upcoming Survivor Series bout with Brock Lesnar, but he was interrupted by Paul Heyman. Despite having no past affiliation with 'The Advocate,' Rusev ran down to save Paul when things were about to get physical, and an epic burial followed.

Rusev ran Goldberg down on the microphone, then threw the first punch. Bill totally no-sold it, and attacked Rusev with some of the weakest knee strikes you'll ever see. So uncoordinated was the former WCW Champion that he legitimately fell on his backside while assaulting the Bulgarian. A Jackhammer rubber-stamped the beatdown, and Rusev was left lying on his back. A by now familiar position. The full-timer had been slain by the part-timer, and while WWE needed to make Goldberg look strong ahead of the Lesnar match, they did so at the expense of one of their more talented performers.

Rusev looked like a complete fool and a pushover, dealing further damage to his credibility in the midst of a one-sided feud with Roman Reigns.
