10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rusev

This was how Rusev responded to news that he'd face The Undertaker in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018:-

This wasn't the first time 'The Bulgarian Brute' had gone against the company's grain on social media, though it was one of his spicier moments. Rusev knew what he was in for in Saudi Arabia. 'The Deadman' was going to flatten him in quick, effective fashion, and that's exactly how it played out. 'Taker had Ru-Ru slammed in the casket within 10 minutes. A totally listless affair, and one that existed only to pop a crowd that only wants to see big stars dong big star things.

Whether Rusev was joking around or not, it was easy to buy into the idea that he was deeply fed up of how things were going at the time. Months had passed since WWE's inability to capitalise on Rusev day's peak. Booked against a legend in an unwinnable match, this may well have been genuine displeasure, not a troll, and something WWE would have rather not happened.
