10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sheamus

5. He Stopped Using The High Cross (Razor's Edge) As His Finisher

Sheamus is known for the Brogue Kick as his finishing move. There's nothing complex about the move. He stands in the corner, beats his chest, the crowd chants "brogue" because they know it's coming, he might yell "fella" loudly and then he hits the running pump kick to the face of his opponent. It's not a new move or anything more than a basic transitional move for wrestlers of the past, but for him it's his finish. It wasn't always his finisher, though. When Sheamus debuted on the ECW brand on June 30, 2009 he used the Irish Curse backbreaker as his finishing move. These days that's just a setup move for him. There was also a period in his career where he used the High Cross as a finishing move. It was the move that Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon used in the 1990s where he put his opponent over his head, extended his arms and sent him crashing to the mat in a Powerbomb like motion. He stopped using the move probably because he can do the Brogue Kick on any wrestler like Big Show or Mark Henry, but if he tried to do the High Cross to those guys it may have been difficult. Plus, the High Cross isn't a very safe move. The person taking the move could land hard on their neck/shoulder area, so WWE likely told him to stop using it because it wasn't safe.
