10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About SummerSlam
6. Randy Orton's Record-Breaking Title Win
WWE has made much of the fact that Randy Orton is its youngest-ever world champion - particularly at the time, given that its divorce with the previous record-holder, Brock Lesnar, had been far from amicable.
But Orton's record-breaking moment has been swept under the rug over recent years - with one obvious explanation. The Legend Killer won his maiden world title at SummerSlam 2004 against Chris Benoit, whose WWE footprint has - understandably - been effectively wiped from the annals of history after the manner of his death three years later.
The company certainly still acknowledges that Orton holds the record, but the details of his win are supposed to be kept to a minimum (and it's more than a little awkward sometimes, to say the least).
