10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About SummerSlam

5. Eugene

Eugene's fleeting brush with the main event at SummerSlams 2004 and 2005 is a little embarrassing for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, today's squeaky clean WWE product would probably balk at the idea of having a wrestler portray an ostensibly mentally handicapped man - and although Eugene featured prominently on Raw in the mid-2000s, it's curious that you don't seem to see him popping up in special reunion shows anymore.

And second, how is it someone the company pushed so hard ended off completely off the map thereafter? Eugene was feuding with Triple H in mid-2004 and a year later Kurt Angle, whose gold medals he had won during an open challenge.

Eric Bischoff's nephew was never really main event material, but you expect something a little more of someone who fought two of the company's biggest ever stars at successive SummerSlams.
