10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Miz

3. His First Four Intercontinental Title Reigns Were Garbage

Just like headlining WrestleMania, the fact Miz has won the Intercontinental Title a record seven times is something nobody can take away from him. Analyse his history with the secondary belt a little closer though and you'll find some shocking statistics. Before his reigns in 2016, The Miz didn't have an IC stint worth recognition.

Firstly, that initial win on Raw 1000 (12 July 2012) was overshadowed by losing the title to Kofi Kingston on the premier edition of Main Event. Yes, WWE used the Intercontinental Title as a tool to make the soon-to-be 'C' show look big league. Then, Miz's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th reigns lasted a combined total of 30 days, with two of them only spanning 24 hours each.

In the modern era, few have become so closely associated with the Intercontinental Title as The Miz. WWE would like everyone to believe that's because each reign has been memorable, but that's simply not the case. It wasn't until 2016 that Miz was able to show what he could do for the title's standing.
