10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Trish Stratus

4. Her First Title Win Came After Chyna's Departure

When Trish Stratus was originally hired by WWE, it was entirely because of her looks.

As such, she was first put in a non-wrestling role, working as the manager for the tag team of Test and Albert. Before long, though, she started to show impressive charisma, and her hard work made her a presence in the ring. Within two years of her debut, she had captured the Women's Championship, and nobody felt like she hadn't earned it.

In the history books, however, there's a bit of a cloud over her first victory, as she didn't win the title from the previous champion - rather, it had been vacant for about half a year, and Stratus won a six-woman match to claim the championship.

The previous champion in question was Chyna, who had left the company (without losing the Women's Title) following a dispute with WWE - one that she had claimed came about after Triple H left her for Stephanie McMahon. In a sense, the Stratus era began when the Chyna era ended, but the Chyna era did not end well.
