10 Things You Didn’t Know About Cedric Alexander
1. “Please Sign Cedric” Segment
One of the most notable moments in Alexander’s run in the Cruiserweight Classic was the post-match ovation he received after his defeat to Kota Ibushi. With the Full Sail crowd hollering “please sign Cedric”, Triple H would soon emerge from the back, shake the man of the moment’s hand and seemingly give his approval to the audience’s demands.
In reality though, the segment didn’t quite go down as the taped CWC show might have had us believe.
According to PWInsider, Alexander had actually returned to the locker room after his match, but was sent back out by Triple H to soak up the adulation of the crowd. Furthermore, Triple H didn’t mention that he’d soon come out and join him on the entrance way, surprising Alexander and giving a nod of approval to further put the guy over.
So not only was this one of the true feel-good moments of the year, but it was also entirely spontaneous by the sound of things. I guess there’s no wonder that Alexander was as so overcome by the occasion, but now that he’s back in company for good, you get the impression that this won’t be the last memorable moment he creates.
