Roman Reigns has elected to compete for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Night Of Champions 2023, ostensibly to take the titles away from current Champions and Bloodline-disruptors Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but really to further bully The Usos for the failures he now perceives them to be.

It's more cruelty from 'The Head Of The Table', but his act of malice against his cousins has also broken a streak that Night Of Champions had proudly upheld for its entire history.

On every edition of the show between 2008 and 2015, the WWE Championship was up for grabs. John Cena competed for the belt in six of them as either Champion or Challenger, such was his position as the era-defining star of that particular generation. Despite occupying that spot in 2023, 'The Tribal Chief' won't toast 1000 days on top of the company with a title defence but an attempt to strengthen his tyrannical hold on the majority of the company's gold.
