10 Things You Didn't Know About AEW Double Or Nothing

7. Break Glass For Bret Hart

In a moment as infamous as it was iconic, Bret Hart - who'd been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for a second time, alongside Jim Neidhart, less than two months prior - unveiled to the world the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2019. It wasn't a crisp representation of AEW's production and Hart subsequently fell off the stage, but the moment was poignant in execution.

'The Hitman' can't be the victim of abuse for his oblivious negligence here, though, given that he had insufficient time to prepare for the unveiling. He was a last-minute replacement for Ric Flair. AEW's original choice for the title reveal fell through as Flair was dealing with health complications at the time, resulting in Bret Hart - who was already in town for the weekend's Starrcast events - being drafted in for the big reveal.

This marks Hart's only AEW appearance to date, whereas 'The Nature Boy' is yet to become All Elite despite having been a free agent since the summer of 2021. It has since been extensively reported that Flair could make a jump to the Tony Khan-helmed promotion to join his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo, though this is yet to occur.
