6. He Named His Dog Ty Black After Seth Rollins' ROH Character

This nugget came from a Wrestling Observer radio show with Dave Meltzer talking to Rob Naylor, who worked closely with Dusty Rhodes in FCW/NXT as an assistant. It was a pretty random story about how Dusty was really fond of current WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Rollins was the first NXT Champion and somebody that Dusty genuinely loved because of his natural ability as a wrestler. Naylor shared the story that several years ago Dusty got a new dog and they named him Ty Black. Naylor learned of the name when Dusty told him to go take Ty Black for a walk, so Naylor asked if that was the dog's name and apparently it was! What's notable about that is that Rollins' character in Ring of Honor was Tyler Black. That kind of thing just shows that even though Dusty was a boss to a lot of these guys, he admired them so much that he would do things like name his dog after a character name that Rollins had before WWE.
