6. Primarily Being A Single's Wrestler, Cena Has Held Four Tag Team Championships
It is clear that John Cena is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all-time. As previously mentioned, he has 15 world titles, but he is also a 3-time United States Champion as well. Cena was a singles star from the beginning (outside of a brief run with Bull Buchanan); rather than starting in a tag team then emerging as a star. Cena has held either the World Tag Team Title or the WWE Tag Team Title a total of four times. What's interesting is all four runs were after his first world title win at WrestleMania 21. The funny thing about each one of Cena's tag team title reigns is his partner was a current or near future enemy. The first tag title reign was with Shawn Michaels ahead of their WrestleMania 23 match. Cena was the WWE Champion at the time and ended up holding both belts. His second reign was with Batista in early August, just before their match at Summerslam 2008. His third reign was with David Otunga when he was forced to be in The Nexus, and his fourth reign was with The Miz a couple months before their WrestleMania 27 match.
