10 Things You Didn't Know About John Cena

7. Cena Went To College Solely To Play Football

Some people head into college knowing exactly which direction they want to go and which major they want to strive for. There are others that have no clue and remain undeclared while they take some of the core classes while they try to find themselves as a young adult. For John Cena, it was kind of a mixture of both. He knew the major that he wanted to pursue, but the only reason why he went to college was to play football. Cena chose to get an Exercise Physiology degree not for his future, but just because it was a passion of his. He knew the industry well and was well versed in health & fitness, along with working out. The courses were easy for him not because they were a piece of cake, it was easy because he had passion and knowledge for it. While he wasn't thinking about the future, he was at least having a great direction for his education. As previously mentioned, the main reason Cena attended college was to play football. He attended Springfield College in Massachusetts, just two hours away from his hometown of West Newbury. Springfield College was a Division III school, and Cena definitely made his mark there as he was both a team captain and an All-American as a center for the team. He wore the number 54; which was seen on much of his merchandise during his rapping gimmick days.
