10 Things You Didn't Know About John Cena

5. Criticism Of Cena Burying Wrestlers Is Not Entirely True

There have always been rumors that John Cena, much like Hulk Hogan, would bury wrestlers and keep them from getting pushed. There have been times where Cena has made the wrong call on how a match should go (i.e. Team WWE vs. Team Nexus at Summerslam 2010). But overall, John Cena has been instrumental in using his power and influence he's earned for good in terms of putting over other WWE stars. There are some good examples: Sheamus defeated Cena at the Tables Ladders and Chairs pay per view in 2009 for his first world title. Daniel Bryan pinned Cena at the 2013 Summerslam. But the best instance on Cena putting someone over is Edge. In 2005 at WrestleMania 21, John Cena won his first world title; while Edge won the very first Money In The Bank Match. At the beginning of 2006 at New Year's Revolution, John Cena was still on his first title run; which approached 280 days. Cena came out on top of a grueling Elimination Chamber match, and then all of a sudden we hear Edge's music by surprise. IT WAS THE FIRST CASH IN FOR MONEY IN THE BANK! In less than two minutes, Edge speared and pinned Cena to win his first world title. Cena has always believed in helping out the company's bottom line, and when he believes in someone he will go to Vince and tell them so. When it came to Edge, Cena was the ONLY guy in the room who suggested Edge cash it in on him. Everyone else in management was against the idea, but Cena won out and it played out the way it did, in spectacular fashion.
