10 Things You Didn't Know About Maria Kanellis
4. She Went Back To School For Her Bachelor's Degree In 2013
Maria had a long career in WWE, and while female wrestlers often make less than their male counterparts, odds are that she pocketed a decent amount of money during her six years. Moreover, her dedication to wrestling ensured that she had regular work after leaving the company.
Nevertheless, Kanellis has planned for a future after wrestling. In 2013 - while still a member of the Ring of Honor roster - she began working toward a bachelor's degree in sports entertainment (no, not that kind) and event management at Johnson and Wales University. She is on pace to graduate in May of this year.
What's next? After getting her bachelor's, Maria plans to continue going to school. She is interested in getting a master's degree in business administration, which makes sense, and several of her past coworkers have described her as being very business-savvy. Unlike many of her peers, she looks to be well-prepared for life after wrestling.
