4. Vince Gets Weird With Sable At A House Show
Concerned with declining house show attendances Vince McMahon, Steve Austin, Eric Bischoff and Goldberg all began working select dates in an effort to boost ticket sales. Goldberg was WWE World Heavyweight Champion, so naturally defended the belt in main events. Austin and Bischoff had their schtick down pat and could effortlessly entertain the crowd for twenty minutes just by trading barbs on the microphone. But what was Vince to do? Still in his 'Genetic Jackhammer' phase, and feuding with the likes of Zach Gowen and daughter Stephanie, Vince wasn't going to be working an matches on shows. No, he would just come out and make the audience feel slightly uncomfortable with his groping ways. Vince took things a step further on an August 31st house show in Uniondale, New York (the same one where he prematurely ended Rhyno and Tajiri's match without warning). Vince, whose erratic behaviour around this time was a growing concern, came out during the show and began making out with Sable. Then, clearly in a jovial mood, Vince decided that he wanted to join the 'Sable Kiss My A** Club', pulled up her dress, and planted a lip lock on her backside. Why did he do this? For his own gratification, presumably. One person who can't have been happy about this was Sable's future husband, Brock Lesnar. Perhaps this was one of the reasons The Next Big Thing decided to walk out months later?
