When Shawn Michaels first coined "grand slam" in 1997, it was because nobody had ever held every title in WWE, and 'HBK' probably imagined that it would be a pretty exclusive club after the fact.

The definition has become as warped and stretched as the collected prestige of the belts themselves over the years, with this specific hall of champions being opened up to many that have completed the set on one or both brands. Nonetheless, it gained two new entrants in 2019 as Brock Lesnar victims Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio at least struck gold at opposite ends of the calendar year.

The culmination of KofiMania at WrestleMania 35 saw the New Day man complete his collection thanks to the win over Daniel Bryan, while Rey Mysterio's snaring of the United States Championship at AJ Styles' expense on the post-Survivor Series edition of Monday Night Raw earned him the same honour.
