Personally, this fan remembers being pretty disappointed by Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero at Unforgiven 2002. They barely shone on the undercard of a pay-per-view that badly needed them to, and it seemed like neither clicked with the other. That was shocking, especially when looking at Guerrero's skillset and Edge doing everything he could think of to finally nail down a spot as a singles main eventer in the making.

He and Eddie should've torn the roof off the place on PPV. The good news is that Unforgiven was a mere warm-up for things to come on the 26 September SmackDown. There, the pair put on a way better match under a 'No DQ' stipulation that you should defo check out ASAP. It proved to be 10x the match their pay-per-view clash was, and it obliterated the 'aw they just don't have chemistry' argument.

That flimsy excuse would look even more ridiculous once Edge began teaming with Rey Mysterio and Eddie enlisted Chavo for some of the best tag action you'll ever witness. Put it like this: Guerrero vs. Edge from the 26 Sept 2002 SmackDown is still considered to be one of the greatest WWE matches ever.

Both men were on a mission to exorcise demons that had tripped them up in Los Angeles the week beforehand. The fact that fans in attendance for the show gave Guerrero a standing ovation even when he was playing heel said it all. WWE fans had been charmed by Eddie's hard work - that'd come in handy during his main event push in 2004.
