2. An Era Of Generic Rock Music & Similar Looks

For some reason, a lot of WWE’s newcomers during the era had similar entrance music and ring attire. Even future legends like John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista were affected by this obsession with cookie cutter presentation for a while. Then, there were others like Matt Morgan, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak etc. All of them might as well have been the same guy.

Being tall and tanned with a crew cut hairstyle was one thing, but WWE's decision to give everyone samey, bland generic rock tracks and a similar boots n’ tights look was a head scratcher. It hardly helped anyone stand out from the crowd, and yet this approach seemed to be the general norm for newbies.

Many rookies ended up looking like CAWs from SmackDown vs. Raw.

Brock Lesnar had the same sort of style early on, but he was saved due to Paul Heyman's presence as a manager and a mega-push that quickly established him as a cut above everyone else. Variety is key when piecing together a wrestling roster. WWE temporarily forgot that.
