Whilst the main event of In Your House: Final Four is often overlooked, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin from WrestleMania most certainly isn't. Getting all the credit it deserves now, it's clear that fans at the time (at least those in attendance at the Rosemont Horizon) were just as appreciative of the effort both men put forth.

Unfortunately, even though it's the one essential match on the 'Mania 13 card, Austin vs. Hart didn't go on last. A 'Chicago Street Fight' pitting The Legion Of Doom and Ahmed Johnson vs. The Nation Of Domination was quickly followed by Sycho Sid vs. The Undertaker in the headline slot.

The 6-man affair was fast and entertaining, something the WWF Title headliner couldn't claim. Slow and dull, 'Taker vs. Sid remains one of the most plodding 'Mania main events ever. Undoubtedly, Hart vs. Austin would have been a much better choice to close out the show.

Nothing was going to top the claret-soaked Submission Match. Even if Undertaker vs. Sid had been better, it still wouldn't have come close to being a deserving main event. That's even more obvious in retrospect than it was at the time.
