10 Things You May Have Missed From WWE Raw (Jul 2)

3. Mojo: Actually Good?

No Way Jose Mojo Rawley

Speaking of Rawley, it's fashionable to pile on the former Hype Bro for his failings. Pushed beyond his depth in NXT, he was entirely unconvincing alongside Zack Ryder, and even less so after their split. He has been given nothing since then, and a complete lack of screen presence and character progression has left him lost.

Many of the criticisms are/were warranted, but Mojo is an easy target. Fortunately, it looks like he may finally be turning the corner, and after a solid segment last week, Rawley delivered another convincing performance yesterday evening.

Mojo's promo was strong, his beatdown impactful, and his offence actually looked like it hurt. He came off like a mean, spiteful villain as he ran Jose and his conga line down, then left them broken. This is exactly the kind of character he needs to be. Sure, he'll eventually require stronger opposition, and it'll take a long time to shake off the "hype" stigma, but he's making progress, and it's flying under everyone's radars.

There's still a long way to go, but given his trajectory so far, Mojo's development is encouraging.
