10 Things You Miss About NXT Wrestlers On WWE's Main Roster

8. Baron Corbin's Big Banter

Baron Corbin isn't an engaging talker. He recites every line in a slow, stunted cadence, and his delivery is always monotone, no matter what he's saying. Despite this, Corbin clearly isn't lacking in wit, and while SmackDown's writers seem to feed him only the dullest material, some of his old NXT promo work was very entertaining.

Internet fans gave Corbin the semi-ironic 'Big Banter' nickname when he told Apollo Crews to "go back to Ring Of Honor" during an old NXT match. Crews has never actually worked for ROH, but still, this played into the "I hate indie wrestlers" gimmick that 'The Lone Wolf' was working at Full Sail, and it continued through his feud with Austin Aries.

Aries, a former ROH Champion, faced Corbin at TakeOver: Dallas, with Baron cutting the best promo of his career beforehand. Having threatened to send Austin "back to his crowds of 50 people," Corbin told him to "take one of those pictures of me standing over you, sit next to Virgil at one of those conventions, and just beg for people to remember that you used to be somebody."

This character was just starting to take off at the time, but Corbin was promoted to the main roster the day after TakeOver, and has barely shown an ounce of personality since.
