Make no mistake about it - American Alpha saved Jason Jordan's career. The former NXT and SmackDown Tag Team Champions may be one of the top teams in WWE today, but if it wasn't for Chad Gable and that beautiful thing called 'chemistry', Jordan may well have been gone from the promotion.

Until Gable showed up, Jason Jordan was an athletic NXT enhancement performer and little else. Jordan briefly teamed with Tye Dillinger, but their partnership came to a fairly unceremonious end. JJ was getting dangerously close to being tarred with the 'forever in developmental' brush. Jordan was in WWE purgatory.

Then Chad Gable arrived, and the weirdly charismatic wrist-lock machine gave Jordan purpose and a clear focus. Jordan initially refused Gable's advances, but he couldn't do so forever. American Alpha became an overnight sensation in NXT, and Jason Jordan's prospects looked a whole lot better.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
