10 Times Famous Wrestlers Shared A Nickname

3. Gene Okerlund and The Undertaker

This one is just for fun.

It was during his time with the American Wrestling Association that Gene Okerlund gained the nickname "Mean". It was a rib on the part of Jesse "The Body" Venture, who (like many) saw Gene as the nicest person in wrestling.

The "Mean" moniker stuck with Gene for the rest of his life and it was as much a part of his character as his silky voice, excellent moustache, and his hatred of SummerSlam signs.

However, he's not the only WWE legend to go by that name.

In 1990, a young Texan made his debut for WCW as a replacement for Sid Justice in a tag team match. That man would go onto feud with the likes of The Road Warriors, be managed by Paul Heyman, and challenge Lex Luger for the United States Championship at The Great American Bash.

That man was "Mean" Mark Callous, a tall, macabre brawler who had a fondness for snakes and Ozzy Osbourne.

After a short tenure with WCW, Callous (who's real name was Mark Calaway) was signed to the WWF and, in September that year, would step out in front of the crowd at Survivor Series as The Undertaker.

The rest, as they say, is history.
