10 Times Imitation Was Not The Sincerest Form Of Flattery In Wrestling

5. The Underfaker

WWE's obsession with creating doppelgänger characters and pitting them against one another must be questioned. Who is this supposed to entertain: the audience who are meant to care or the writers penning such garbage? At least Kane had differences when he debuted. Brian Lee's 'Underfaker' was a complete replica of 'The Deadman'.

Introduced by Ted DiBiase in 1994, this new Undertaker impersonator was passed off as the real deal to fans. There were physical similarities, but close inspection made it clear that Brian Lee was not Mark Calaway and never would be. Nonetheless, the WWF pressed on with plans to have the first ever Undertaker vs. Undertaker match at SummerSlam.

Putting such a slow-moving affair on straight after Bret and Owen Hart had torn the house down inside a Steel Cage was disastrous. Even without such a red-hot match happening right before it though, this battle of The Undertakers would have surely failed.

There will only ever be one, even if Lee did give it his best shot.
