10 Times Predictable WrestleMania Outcomes Never Actually Happened

8. Bret Hart Loses To His Baby Brother €“ WrestleMania X

In one of the greatest WrestleMania upsets of all-time, Owen Hart defeated brother Bret in an outstanding opening match at €˜Mania X. This was an Owen who wasn€™t even really considered a midcard talent by some at this point in time, yet this €˜Mania classic saw him get a shocking roll-up on his older brother for the victory. Bret had already been a WWF Champion - and he€™d go on to regain that same title later that night - whereas Owen had barely won a match of note in the WWF by that point, let alone won a championship. The Owen bout was merely done as a warm-up match for The Hitman due to him having to face either Luger or Yokozuna in the main event of the show, meaning that both competitors of that Madison Square Garden main event would have competed in two matches by the time the show came to a close. As such, everybody looked past The Rocket, with it seen as a routine Bret Hart win on his way to greater things. This unpredictable win put Owen on the map and signalled the start of the greatest run of the younger Hart brother€™s career as he would fight for the WWF Title later in the year.
