11 years after Bret Hart and Lex Luger were supposed to fall out of the ring at the exact same time and cause a controversial finish in 1994, John Cena and Batista did it by accident at the 2005 Rumble. Oops.

Refs from Raw and SmackDown, who were communicating with the Gorilla position via their headsets, tried to stall for time while Vince McMahon made up his mind on a new finish. Eventually, the Vin man got so flustered that he strolled down the aisle, tearing off his suit jacket and throwing it to the ground as he did.

When he entered the ring, something remarkable happened. Vince, so riled up from the unplanned botch, had torn both of his quadricep muscles after banging his legs against the ring supports. So, everyone sat and watched McMahon camp out on the canvas and direct traffic from there. Finally, he instructed officials to restart the match.

Nobody could have guessed that McMahon wold even come out let alone lose power over his own legs. It was a weird reminder that even WWE's best-laid plans can go from tightly-knit to complete and utter disaster in just a few minutes.
