A berth in uber-cool heel stable Evolution was exactly what young Randy Orton needed in early-2003. Backing up the likes of Ric Flair and Triple H would mean he was always in a featured spot, and yet there wouldn't be any pressure on Mr. RKO to grow quickly. He had all the time in the world to become a main eventer himself.

By the summer of 2004, he was ready, and so was Triple H.

Matches against 'The Game' as a babyface raised Randy onto a higher level. Instead of running in as muscle to help pound Triple H's foes, Orton was now asked to show off his athleticism as a young upstart who'd been double crossed by the men who once claimed to be his mentor. Fans ate it up.

There's a reason WWE kept coming back to Triple H vs. Randy Orton. Their first feud in 2004 was so good, and the pair had so much chemistry, that it seemed natural they'd switch alignments for another go-around every few years.
