After losing to The Shield at Extreme Rules and Payback 2014, Batista left Evolution and WWE entirely after not being granted a WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan. On the same night, Triple H pulled a move out of his old "turning on DX to join the Corporation" bag of tricks in convincing Seth Rollins to turn on The Shield and side with The Authority. It was a shocking moment, and if you listen to the WWE Universe chanting "you sold out" at Seth to this day, certainly incredibly effective. When WWE can brand Seth Rollins as "The Architect" because it is a synonym for "Cerebral Assassin," you know you're doing it right.
