Vince's appearance on the Steve Austin Show podcast was captivating, must-see stuff. It was a rare insight into Vince's state of mind these days. Austin wasn't afraid to ask some hard questions about the state of the product and the creative handling of some of WWE's current crop of superstars. A lot of Vince's answers did not make for good listening, however. He famously derided the so-called millennials for their lack of ambition before saying that the brass ring was there, if somebody was willing to grab it. Austin asked Vince McMahon point-blank why Cesaro's stock had dropped quicker than WWE's in the last six months. Austin, who is a fan of Cesaro's, said the problem was bad booking. Vince disagreed. According to McMahon, Cesaro didn't have 'it'. Elaborating, Vince said that:
'He doesnt quite have the charisma, he doesnt have quite the verbal skills. Maybe its because hes Swiss, I dont know in terms of European style at the moment, he lacks it.
Yeah, Cesaro really looked to be struggling at WrestleMania XXX, when he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to a booming ovation. Cesaro is an internet darling, no doubt, but he's also somebody who looked to have a very, very promising future before the WWE hacks sabotaged it. The fans were ready to embrace Cesaro and wanted to see him make the transition into a legit main event guy. Vince McMahon put the kibosh on that pretty quickly.
