10 Times Vince McMahon Sold His Soul

4. First (But Not Last) Blood

Contrary to popular belief (and the gleeful expression on his face as he made his t*ts bounce whilst acting as guest referee on a 2015 edition of Monday Night Raw), Vince McMahon doesn't actually want to constantly gobble up all the attention as the psychopathic and misanthropic gaffer he once so nobly played.

Unlike his infuriating d*ckhead kids, he's shown weakness in the past and even attempted to remove himself from television (and more than once, this mortal coil) just to avoid having to portray the 'exaggerated' version of himself. As he hilariously yelled towards Bruce Prichard long before the former Brother Love could turn into fried podcast gold, "I can't be on TV when I'm DEAD!"

'Mr McMahon's first farewell set the stage for his numerous false finishes over the years. Always willing to use his own demise as a hook straight into the pockets of his customers, Vince agreed to depart WWE forever if Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Undertaker at July 1999's Fully Loaded pay-per-view. And he did, so he did.

McMahon was WWE Champion by September.

Goaded out of exile by Triple H and into a match, his surrender of his newly-won prize a few days later resulted in a return to television as a babyface thanks to a title-related concession from, of all people, Stone Cold Steve Austin. A heroic tale got him out of the lie he'd told his audience - but he'd have no problem being more underhanded in the future.
