Okay, so not just Judy Bagwell, this is just the most egregious example indicitive of a wider problem. That being, late-era WCW's obsession with "...On A Pole Matches". It's a match that has become synonomous with Vince Russo's tenure in the company, and the running joke is now that you can tell Russo is behind an angle if it ends up with something on a pole. The infamous Judy Bagwell on a Pole match came about when Buff Bagwell was feuding with Kanyon, who was stalking the former WCW Tag Team Champion, and mother of "The Stuff", Judy Bagwell. Kanyon kidnapped Judy and brought her out on a forklift, because in his words, there wasn't a pole strong enough in the country. Despite interference from David Arquette (Making his first appearance in this article) Bagwell successfully defeated Kanyon and won his mother back. Other examples of this overplayed gimmick involve Viagra on a Pole between Billy Kidman and Shane Douglas as part of a storyline where Douglas had erectile dysfunction, Leather Jacket on a Pole between Tank Abbot and Big Al, and the horribly offensive Pinata On A Pole match featuring WCW's luchadores including Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera among others.
