10 Times Wrestlers Ate Thumbtacks

8. Kevin Steen/Owens (CZW, 2006)

Long before he was the cocky loudmouth wrestling fans know and love today on WWE television, Kevin Owens was known as Kevin Steen. Wrestling primarily for Ring Of Honor before signing with the major leagues, he also spent some time in Combat Zone Wrestling. It's there that he experienced the horror of bumping onto thumbtacks.

CZW is also where the likes of Dean Ambrose (as Jon Moxley) spent a considerable number of evenings rolling around in pain. No stranger to hardcore matches, there's a great chance that Moxley also agreed to bump on the pins. Perhaps his facial expression showed the same shock as Steen's.

Coming off of the ring ropes to attack BJ Whitmer, Steen found himself coiled up into a Neckbreaker by his opponent. Spinning round, Whitmer then dropped his foe directly onto the tacks beneath them. Ironically, he also landed on as many of the sharp, pain-inflicting devices as Steen.

Exhaling, it's clear that the future KO didn't enjoy what had just happened. Even with a shirt on his body, there's little doubt he still felt the sudden burning as the tacks tore at his back.
