10 Times Wrestlers Ate Thumbtacks

7. Jeff Hardy (TNA Destination X 2005)

It's maddening to think that Jeff Hardy's current TNA run has lasted longer than either of his more famous stints in WWE. Upon being released by the McMahon family in 2003, Jeff sought solace on the independent scene. That included TNA, a then-fledgling promotion looking to make a name for themselves.

Hardy fit the bill, certainly as an ideal opponent for their own creation, the monstrous Abyss. In 2005, the pair would contest several hard-hitting wars, with the most notable coming at the Destination X pay-per-view. In a Falls Count Anywhere Match, everyone's favourite wrestling daredevil suffered from the wrath of the thumbtacks.

Of course, it was Abyss who brought them into play. Scattering the shiny horrors across the ring, he then hit his patented Black Hole Slam onto them. As soon as his body slammed against the pins, Jeff began screaming in pain.

He can't be blamed for that, sine Abyss really laid it in with the move. In fairness, the big man also appeared to get some tacks stuck in his arm and hand, but Hardy got the worst of it.
