10 Times Wrestlers Refused To Break Character For The Media

2. Vader - Good Morning Kuwait

Ah, yes, the only entry on this list with real world consequences. Vader actually spent at few days in a Kuwaiti prison after mauling Basaam Al-Othman, who had the temerity to suggest that pro wrestling wasn't a real athletic competition. Undertaker, also on the show, made some cogent points about wrestling being the world's most strenuous performance art. Vader made an equally cogent point about SHUT UP I WILL KILL YOU.

Reportedly, this whole incident was a big misunderstanding, with everyone except Al-Othman aware that things would get physical; it was the producer's idea, and he thought the segment would work better with the host reacting with authentic terror. Well, the police were also not alerted, because the Mastodon was arrested and had to spend the weekend in a Kuwaiti prison (which was actually quite lovely, according to the big man).

In Vader's defense, it's pretty clear he wasn't trying to hurt Al-Othman. Vader is about 6'5" tall and was about 6'6" wide at this point in time, and if he were really intent on hurting the host they'd still be picking pieces of the poor guy from between the floorboards.

Immortal Dialogue: "Does that feel fake? Does it?"
