10 Times Wrestlers No-Sold Killer Moves

5. Hawk No-Sells A Piledriver

Whether they're The Road Warriors or The Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal are known primarily for two things - winning loads of Tag Championships all over the world, and no-selling.

Especially Piledrivers.

Among the many unwritten rules of wrestling (i.e. "never headbutt a Samoan") is "never Piledrive a Road Warrior". Hawk was especially notorious for this, and one of his most gratuitous Piledriver no-sells came on a December 1997 episode of Monday Night RAW, which saw L.O.D. lose a Tag Team Title match to The New Age Outlaws via DQ. During a post-match beatdown by The Godwinns, out came the recently-debuted Kane, who they were naturally trying to build up as an unstoppable monster heel.

Hawk, however, couldn't bring himself to put someone other than himself over.

Upon entry, Kane hit a Piledriver on Hawk, who responded in his usual fashion - by getting right back up. Sure, he'd sell his subsequent Chokeslam and Tombstone, but the damage was done by this point. He could have made Kane look so much stronger if this had been the one Piledriver to actually keep him down, but he simply couldn't let that happen, even though it was clearly for the greater good. While this certainly wasn't character assassination for Kane, it was still wholly unnecessary on Hawk's part, especially at this point in his career.

But this wouldn't be the last time that he'd no-sell offense from The Big Red Machine...
