10 Times Wrestlers Performed Their Finishers In Movies

Ah, the glory days of the early 80s, when kayfabe was still intact and the concept of a boxer vs a wrestler was seen as something even vaguely resembling a fair fight. Rocky III marked the film debut of Hulk Hogan, which, considering that films like No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny were to follow, might not be a something to celebrate.

It was also a rare villainous role for the Hulkster, playing the preposterously named Thunderlips, a lumbering blonde monstrosity who suplexed, body slammed and otherwise tossed around the tiny Stallone like he was child. Hogan hits the leg drop, but, bizarrely, it's not the end of the fight, but rather buried somewhere in the middle. Hulk couldn't have been happy about that. Rocky III was a pivotal movie for the WWF.

Not only did it garner massive exposure for Hulk Hogan, transforming him into the unstoppable goliath that he became, but it laid the foundation stone for the first ever Wrestlemania, the supercard gamble that McMahon risked his entire company to produce. Without the appearance of Mr T, whom Hogan met on the set of Rocky III, who can say how successful Wrestlemania might or might not have been?
