10 Times Wrestlers Unified Titles
2. Chris Jericho (WWE And WCW World)
Despite the 'Winner Takes All' tagline, Survivor Series 2001 ended with two World champs still running around WWE. With Vengeance 2001 right around the corner, WWE began promoting the show as a tournament to crown the first ever WWE Undisputed Champion.
Many fans expected a double title showdown between WWE champ Steve Austin and WCW champ The Rock in a conclusive bout to their long-running feud. Instead, thanks to a smorgasbord of shenanigans and over-booking, Chris Jericho picked up the win on the future movie star, and then The Rattlesnake later that evening to raise both belts over his head.
Y2J's career-enhancing win came as a huge surprise due to the start-stop nature of his pushes at the time. Criticism of his reign focused on his lack of convincing offence with the future Demo God getting thrashed for most of his bouts before picking up tainted wins.
Regardless of the general disappointment surrounding his title reign (and that strange dog-related feud with Triple H heading into WrestleMania X8), the accolade remains seminal 20 years later as the most famous title unification in wrestling history.
