Hey, King Mo wasn’t the only time that TNA wasted money on bringing in MMA talent, and then not doing much with them. Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson found their way out of UFC, but that didn’t stop their smaller competitor in Bellator from picking them both up. The promotion set up a fight between the two, and to spice things up even more, they crossed over their rivalry into a wrestling angle!

Initially, Jackson’s debut saw him going face-to-face with Kurt Angle. It looked like a potentially exciting showdown. Then that was all forgotten the next week, as Rampage saved Angle from an attack by Aces and Eights, and then he joined the newly reformed Main Event Mafia. He then tried to recruit his upcoming opponent to join the stable with him after Kurt Angle went to rehab. Ortiz accepted, only to later hit Rampage in the head with a hammer and murder him. Wait. He survived a hammer attack to the head? Huh.

Anyway, the two were involved in one match where they really didn’t do anything, and then just kind of disappeared off TV. Neither one seemed overly enthusiastic about their time in the company, as Rampage didn’t seem to enjoy “how they ran things.”

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
