Some UFC fighters are trained in a variety of martial arts practices, so they can master a variety of different skills to counter their opponent's offense. Others just like to wildly punch, and hope they hit something. That kind of summed up Tank Abbott’s career. The man had a bit of a following due to his heavy hits and unique look, so WCW picked him up to feud with Goldberg to try and rebuild some of his mystique after his streak ended.

Tank went on a bit of a streak of his own, knocking out his opponents with his finishing move, which, believe it or not, was a punch. While the whole idea of him coming in was to battle Goldberg, the two never had their big pay-per-view showdown. Tank was instead used to put over Sid Vicious in his first loss.

Eventually the Goldberg match did go down, and Da Man won in a couple of minutes despite interference by Rick Steiner and the use of a steel chair. Tank ended his MMA career with a 10-15 record, and ended his pro wrestling career as a lackey to 3-Count. For all of this, he made a cool $600,000 in 2000.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
