8. Nikki A.S.H Gets Shot Down
Oh Nikki, what a pity they don't understand...
WWE's latest superhero didn't exactly receive a hero's welcome at a recent house show in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the Raw Women's Champion was showered with boos during her ring introduction.
As the linked-to article explains, the crowd's opprobrium was down to two things: Hometown hero Charlotte Flair cancelling at the last minute, and Nikki's Almost a Super Hero gimmick failing to take flight (badoom-tsh).
Unfortunately for Nikki, there's not much she could have done about either circumstance. WWE knew Charlotte Flair wouldn't be present but kept it to themselves, thus royally pissing off the fans who bought a ticket to see Charlotte's return to Flair country.
As for the Almost a Super Hero gimmick, WWE have botched it at every turn since Nikki became champion. Nikki has been booked like a putz, either losing cleanly or getting fluky wins over her storyline rivals. She needs to rack up some decisive wins, or to get out of the title picture and go back to being a lovable underdog.
WWE need to get their act together with Nikki, because right now looks less like the Hurricane and more like his sidekick - the Super Hero In Training. (And yes, WWE really did use that acronym).
