4. New Day Sucks
The #1 rated tag team in WWE history looked anything but that in their debut year.
The New Day started life with no clear direction other than being as irritatingly upbeat as possible. There's nothing wrong with positivity in wrestling - hell, giving audiences something to cheer for should be any promotion's number one priority - but the WWE never gave people a reason to care about New Day. Without a decent storyline or proper character development, New Day's attitude felt forced and one-dimensional, and fans quickly turned on them.
The nadir was 2015's Beast in the East show, where WWE fed the trio to Brock Lesnar. The company built the PPV around Lesnar's appearance, and knew they had to feed him a group whose trip to Suplex City would be cheered by the audience. The fact that New Day were chosen shows that WWE knew that the group's babyface run had been a colossal failure.
Fortunately, New Day embarked on a wickedly entertaining heel run shortly afterwards, saving their careers in the process. As did the next entrant on the list...
